When adding a card, your bank may ask you to confirm the action using 3-D Secure (3DS). This protects you from unauthorized card use.

Common Errors

  • “Authentication failed”
  • “Your card is not registered for 3-D Secure”
  • “Please register your card through your bank’s app”
  • “Card not registered for online purchases”

These mean your card isn’t activated for 3DS or the confirmation didn’t go through.

Affected Users

  • DebiX cardholders (especially via the debiX+ app)
  • Older cards never used online
  • Customers not using their bank’s app for confirmations

Your card is not blocked — it just needs 3DS activation.

How to Solve It

  1. Open your bank’s app or online banking.
  2. Activate 3-D Secure / Visa Secure / Mastercard Identity Check / Online payments for your card.
  3. Return to our app and try adding your card again.
  4. DebiX users: Make sure your card is linked in debiX+ and use your One Time Registration Code (OTRC) from your registration letter.

Still Having Trouble?
Contact your bank and ask:
“Can you confirm or make sure my card is activated for online payments or 3-D Secure?”
After that, adding your card should work.
